Afghan forces fail to arrest ex-football federation chief accused of sexual harassment

Afghan Security Forces launched an operation to arrest the former Afghan football federation chief Sunday night, but failed to detain him as the residents backed him.

According to reports, a group of Afghan forces stormed on the residents of Keramuddin Karim, the former chief of Afghan football federation in Panjshir province last night to detain him, but the people in the area did not allow it.

Mohammad Amin Seddiqi, deputy governor for Panjshir spoke to media saying that last night operation was not coordinated with the local authorities.

The incident went viral on social media, many supporters of Keramuddin Karim accuses the government of playing a double standard game in fighting against corruption and crimes.

This comes as few weeks back, President Ghani called on Panjshir residents to help in arresting Keramuddin Karim who lives in Pansjhir.
