Afghan forces conduct 105 Joint, Special Ops and 15 airstrikes in past 24 hours: MoD

The Afghan security forces conducted 105 Joint and Special Operations against the militant groups in the past 24 hours.

The Ministry of Defense in a statement said Thursday that the security forces conducted 10 joint and 95 special operations to suppress the militant groups.

Furthermore, the Afghan Air Force conducted 15 airstrikes in support of the ground forces.

The statement further added that the security forces conducted the operations in Logar, Maidan Wardak, Ghazni, Takhar, Baghlan, Nangarhar, Balkh, Jawzjan, Faryab and Helmand provinces.

Meanwhile, the defense ministry said the security forces killed 107 militants and wounded 22 others during the same operations.

In addition, the security forces arrested 9 people including a Taliban fighter and 8 other suspected militants.

The Ministry of Defense also added that the coalition forces also provided support to the Afghan security forces during the operations.

The anti-government armed militants have not commented regarding the operations so far.
