Afghan forces conduct 104 joint, special ops and 15 airstrikes in past 24 hours: MoD

The Afghan forces conducted 104 Joint and Special Operations against the militant groups in the past 24 hours.

The Ministry of Defense in a statement said the security forces conducted 11 joint and 93 special operations to suppress the militant groups.

Furthermore, the Afghan Air Force conducted 15 airstrikes to support the ground forces during the operations.

The statement further added that the security forces conducted the operations in Badakhshan, Faryab, Helmand, Badghis, Uruzgan, Nangarhar, Ghazni, Balkh, Paktika, Takhar, Kunduz and Sar-e-Pul provinces.

Meanwhile, the defense ministry said the security forces killed 66 militants and wounded 14 others during the same operations.

The security forces also arrested a suspected militant during the operations, the Ministry of Defense added.

The Ministry of Defense also added that the coalition forces also provided support to the Afghan security forces during the operations.

The anti-government armed elements have not commented regarding the operations so far.
