Afghan footballers receive apartments in Emirates Township in Kabul

The Afghan government on Thursday awarded apartments to 27 athletes of the Afghan national football team in Emirates Township in Kabul.

The Chief Executive of the Unity Government Abdullah Abdullah handed over the keys of the apartments to the national team players during a ceremony.

In his speech during the ceremony, Abdullah said the apartments are being awarded to the national football athletes based on the decree of the former President Hamid Karzai.

Abdullah further added that the government hails the national athletes for bringing some moments of happiness to the lives of the people as the country is going through the hard moments.

He said the nation is facing an undeclared imposed war but the national athletes bring smiles in the faces of the people with their performances and victories.

In the meantime, Abdullah said the government remains committed to support the athletes of the country despite the country is facing enormous challenges.

The Minister of Housing and Urban Development Syed Sadat Mansoor Naderi and the deputy chief of the Afghanistan football federation Mohammad Yousuf Kargar had also participated in the ceremony for the distribution of apartments to national football team players.
