Afghan delegation arrives in Islamabad to talk terrorism

salahuddin-rabbani-reu-670A delegation of high ranking Afghan officials arrived in Islamabad on Thursday to discuss fight against terrorism with Pakistani officials.

The delegation is led by Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani but also include the acting Defense Minister Mohammad Masoum Stanikzai and National Directorate of Security Chief Rahmatullah Nabil.

Ahmad Shekib Mustaghni, spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of Afghanistan says that the Afghan delegation will ask Pakistan to adopt a specific stance against terrorism.

Abdul Qadir Zazai, member of Wolesi Jirga or the Lower House of Parliament said that the Afghan delegation will share some evidences with Pakistan and tell them that the militants live in Pakistan and its military is assisting them in attacks.

Pakistani officials have also said that they will share evidences with Afghan delegation to proof that militants who claim responsibility for attacks in Pakistan are hiding in Afghan soil.

This visit takes place after a wave of deadly attacks in capital Kabul leaving at least 50 people killed and more than 400 wounded. The responsibility of one of the attack that left 26 killed and nearly 30 wounded was claimed by Taliban. The Taliban who were brought to negotiation table with Afghan government by Pakistan.

President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani said that such attacks for Afghanistan are being planned from militants safe heavens in Pakistan.

The Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Abdullah also said that those committing crimes in Afghanistan are being financed and armed in Pakistan.
