The Special Forces of the Afghan Military have launched coordinated raids against the hideouts of the Taliban militants in Dasht Archi district of Kunduz province.

The 209th Shaheen Corps of the Afghan Military in the North said the operations are being conducted in the district and so far at least 13 militants have been killed.

According to a statement released by 209th Shaheen Corps, at least 7 militants have also sustained injuries during the same operations.

The statement further added that the operations were conducted in the vicinity of Qarloq district with the support of the Air and Artillery forces.

The commander of the 10th Kandak of Afghan commandos Gen. Mohammad Ali said the operations have been launched to eliminate the hideouts of the terrorists and their fighters.

He said the operations are still being conducted and will continue until the district has been fully cleared of the militants.

This comes as the Office of the National Security Council said last week that the National Defense and Security Forces have been instructed to increase raids against the Taliban across the country in a bid to ensure the safety of the people and reduce the casualties of the security forces.
