Afghan Attorney General Officials on Sunday announced to start investigations regarding Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum in a bid to find out facts behind allegations suggesting that Gen. Dostum was creating barriers towards oil field extraction in northern Afghanistan.

The officials further added a commission of the Afghan Attorney General is due to visit northern Hamu River after collecting required documents from capital Kabul.

Deputy Afghan Attorney General Rahmatullah Nazari quoted by Radio Azadi in Kabul said, a commission has been formed based on national security council of Afghanistan in order to collect documents regarding the allegations.

Mr. Nazari told Radio Azadi, the commission members has collected some documents from the ministry of mines of Afghanistan and are working to collect other required documents from the Chinese Company working on Amu River oil fields.

Afghan Attorney General officials said Gen. Dostum was accused of creating barriers towards oil field extraction in Amu River and was threatening employees of the Chinese Company besides charging them for the extraction oil.

This comes as Afghan Attorney General officials earlier warned that Gen. Dostum will face life prison or will be punished to death if the allegations were proved to be true.

The issue was also shared by the ministry of mines of Afghanistan during a general session of the Afghan national Security Council earlier.

Afghan president Hamid Karzai reacted towards the issue and said Amu River oil extraction is a national project and that no compromise was justifiable in this regard.
