Afghan soldiers killed, insurgents detained in Afghan operations

According to Afghan Defense officials, at least two Afghan National Army soldiers were killed and two others were injured
following military operations across the country.

Afghan Defense Ministry following a press release said, Afghan National Army soldiers also seized some weapons and explosives
during the military operations.

The source further added, at least two National Army soldiers were killed in Delaram district of western Nimroz province while
two other National Army soldiers were injured at Shahjoi district in Helmand province and Manogi district of eastern Kunar
province.

In the meantime local officials in western Herat province said, at least 7 armed insurgents were detained by Afghan Intelligence Department, National Directorate for Security.

Herat provincial governor spokesman Mahiuddin Noori said, at least two Afghan police officers who were cooperating with the insurgents were also among those detained on Sunday.

Mr. Noori further added, the suspects were detained at Adraskan district and Herat city.

Accoridng to Mr. Noori, the detained insurgents were providing intelligence reports to the Taliban group.

This comes as there have been growing concerns in regards to the militants infiltration among the Afghan security forces.

Taliban militants group yet to comment regarding the reports.
