Afghan defense ministry on Sunday announced at least 5 Afghan national army soldiers were killed and injured in various incidents across the country during the past 24 hours.

According to a press release issued by the Afghan defense ministry, Afghan national army soldiers also seized some weapons and ammunitions during the military operations.

The source further added, at least 4 Afghan national army soldiers were killed at Kunar, Nangarhar and Kandahar province and one Afghan national army soldier was injured at Meezan district in southern Zabul province.

Afghan national army soldiers seized 2 missiles, 4 mortar missiles and 6 improvised explosive devices from Qalandar district in eastern Khost province, officials added.

In a separate operation at the Kundi area in the same district Afghan national army soldiers seized 8 AK-47 rifles along with its 9 magazines while Afghan army soldiers seized 1 Rocket Propelled Grenade launcher along with its missiles at Maiwand district of southern Kandahar province and 15 kilograms of opium and 5 bags of chemicals from Zherai district of southern Kandahar province.
