Afghan armed forces conducted multiple air and ground operations in past 24 hours: MoD

The Ministry of Defense of Afghanistan has announced that the Afghan armed forces have conducted six joint operations, 83 Special Operations, and 7 airstrikes against armed militants in the past 24 hours.

According to a statement released by Ministry of Defense, at least 29 militants were killed, 11 were wounded, and 3 others were arrested during the same operations.

The statement further added that the operations were conducted in Baghlan, Logar, Paktia, Badghis, Balkh, Kunduz, and Helmand provinces and as a result 9 militants were killed, 3 were arrested, and 3 Ak-47 rifles were confiscated in Nika district of Paktia province while 5 militants were killed and 7 others were wounded in Dara-e-Suf Payeen district of Samangan province.

At least 6 militants were killed and 3 others were wounded in an airstrike in Chemtal district of Balkh province, MoD said, adding that 8 other militants were killed and 5 motorcycles were destroyed in Shah Mardan Kalli and Khan Kali areas of Waza district in Paktia.

Another militant was killed and one more was arrested in Nejrab district of Kapisa province, the statement by the Ministry of Defense added.

In the meantime, the Ministry of Defense said at least 5 Afghan soldiers also their lives and 8 others were wounded during the same operations.
