The Afghan Military in the North-east says that the Afghan air and ground forces effectively responding to a Taliban attack in Kunduz city.

The 217th Pamir Corps said in a statement that the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces are available in all vulnerable areas of the city and are responding to the attack with the help of the air forces.

The statement further added that the enemies are on the verge of facing defeat in the attack.

Meanwhile, the local security officials are saying that the militants launched the attack at 1:00 am local time and sporadic clashes continue in the outskirts of the city.

The officials also added that the security forces have inflicted heavy casualties on Taliban militants.

On the other hand, the Taliban group has claimed that it has captured some parts of the city and has inflicted casualties on security forces.
