The Afghan Army Chief of Staff Gen. Sharif Yaftali says additional forces have been deployed in Ghazni province for a large operation to suppress the militants.

Speaking during a press conference in Kabul, Gen. Yaftali said the Commando Forces of the Afghan army have also been deployed to Ghazni

He said a large operation would be launched soon to suppress the militants who have launched attacks on some districts in this province.

Gen. Yaftali assured that the deployment of additional forces would change the situation of the conflict in Ghazni province.

In the meantime, Gen. Yaftali said at least 200 militants have lost their lives during the clashes in Khas Uruzgan province over the past few days.

He also admitted that some Afghan Commandos have also lost their the recent clashes but did not elaborate further regarding the exact number.

This comes as heavy clashes are underway in Jaghoori and Malistan districts of Ghazni and Khas Uruzgan district of Uruzgan province since the last few days.
