Abdullah’s team slams IEC for disclosing votes figure on winner certificate

Dr. Abdullah Abdullah’s electoral team slammed the Independent Election Commission (IEC) for disclosing the votes figure on Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai’s certificate.

A statement released by Dr. Abdullah’s team said the disclosure of votes figure on certificate was against the agreement between the electoral teams of the two candidates and the election.

IEC Chief, Ahmad Yousuf Nuristani presented the credentials to Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai during a press conference on Friday.

Dr. Ghani has secured 55.27 percent of the total votes during the runoff presidential election, the credential reveals.

According to the credential, the total of the votes which were marked as valid is 7,120,585 where Dr. Ashraf Ghani has secured 3,935,567 votes.

Dr. Abdullahs’ team said the disclosure of the figures which are not authentic, creates confusion among the Afghan people.
