Abdulazim Badakhshi made a spectacular return to mixed martial arts after a year-long absence, submitting Belarusian fighter Artem Bulovichik just 15 seconds into their bout at an IFL event in India.
Badakhshi faced Bulovichik in the 70-kilogram division and quickly took control before forcing his opponent to submit, marking an emphatic return to competition.
The victory improved Badakhshi’s professional record to 15 wins and five defeats from 20 fights. Known for his finishing ability, he has now recorded 11 knockout victories and three wins by submission.
Bulovichik, 28, entered the bout with nine wins and 10 defeats from 19 professional fights. His loss to Badakhshi moved his record to nine wins and 11 defeats.
Badakhshi was originally scheduled to face Chinese fighter Sivehir Husiman, but Bulovichik replaced him ahead of the event.
The 15-second submission ended Badakhshi’s year-long absence in decisive fashion and gives the fighter momentum as he looks to resume his professional career.
Badakhshi has earned the nickname “Knockout Man” for his finishing power, although his latest victory came by submission.
