At least 47 Taliban insurgents have been killed in an airstrike in the Arghandab district of southern Kandahar province, the Ministry of Defense stated on Sunday.
Fawad Aman, Deputy Spokesman for the Ministry of Defense tweeted that the air force launched airstrikes on the Taliban at around 1:52 am in the Arghandab district of Kandahar province.
According to Aman, 47 Taliban insurgents, including group’s 10 suicide bombers were killed and several others wounded in the attack.
The Taliban militants were shot dead when the Afghan Air Force targeted their hideouts and strongholds.
Aman indicated that the Taliban were preparing to plan operations against Afghan national defense and security forces.
