The Ministry of Interior Affairs announced the seizure of a vehicle loaded with “Sodium Nitrite”, in Police District 9 of Kabul city.

The Ministry said Sunday, that a vehicle loaded with explosives devices was seized last night, in a targeted operation.

The statement added about 4,000 kilograms of “Sodium Nitrite”, used for manufacturing explosives, were loaded in a “Mazda” type vehicle, which the police discovered based on the intelligence information in PD9, Pul-e-Charkhi area of Kabul city.

According to the statement, the driver of the car has also been arrested in connection with this issue.

Armed groups reportedly use these materials for building IEDs, mines, and other explosive devices.
