According to local sources in Kandahar province, a pregnant woman fell into a 60-meter-deep well in the province’s Khakrez district.
As reported by the sources, the woman fell into the Sarkano area of Kandahar province’s Khakrez district at 9 p.m. last night while drawing water from a well, and efforts are being made in the province to rescue the woman.
Consistent with the sources, the depth of this well is 60 meters, and the woman was not seriously injured, according to the preliminary report, and the fate of the unborn child is yet unknown.
The Taliban’s Director of Public Works for Kandahar province, Nematullah Seraji, validated the news, stating that rescue teams had arrived on the site and that efforts to save the woman were ongoing.
It’s not the first time a child or woman has fallen down a well; non-standard and open wells have taken the lives of many victims in the past.
