A man has killed his wife and injured two of his children, according to local Taliban officials in Samangan province.

The incident occurred last night, Friday, 20th May, in Aybak city, the center of Samangan province, according to the Bakhtar state news agency.

The security officials added that the woman was stabbed multiple times.

The husband has escaped from the site, according to the Bakhtar news agency, and efforts are ongoing to arrest him.

The motive for the murder is unclear, and the number of honor killings has climbed since the Taliban has assumed the power.

Two women were killed by their husbands in two different occurrences earlier on 19th May, in Uruzgan province’s central and Deh Rawood districts.

The first murder, according to Mohammad Asif, the Taliban’s Director of Information and Culture in Uruzgan, was committed by a man named Mulladad in the Deh Rrawood district.

According to him, efforts have been taken to arrest the murderer. However, he is still on the loose.

Local sources report that the second murder occurred in the Dek area of Tarinkot, Uruzgan’s capital, and that the man shot his wife.

According to the source, the offender fled to the mountains from his home, and Taliban soldiers are looking to arrest him.
