13 people were killed and 27 others wounded in separate traffic accidents in Maidan Wardak and Ghazni province on Saturday.
Nine people were killed and eleven others wounded in the traffic accident that took place in Maidan Wardak province around 05:00 AM this morning.
A speedy passenger vehicle (Flying Coach) that was transporting passengers from Bamyan province to capital Kabul turned turtle in the jurisdiction on Maidan Wardak province leaving nine people killed and eleven others wounded.
The incident took place in Onay Kotal area of Jalriz District around 05:00 AM. The ones killed included four women and two children.
Two women are among the ones wounded who have been transported to capital Kabul for treatment.
Local officials say that the incident happened because of high speed of the vehilce. Two of the ones wounded are reported to be in critical condition.
Abdul Majid Khogyani, acting governor of Maidan Wardak province has expressed grief and sorrow over the tragedy.
Another traffic accident took place in Ghazni city, provincial capital of Ghazni province, leaving four people killed and 16 others wounded around 08:00 AM this morning.
Shafaq Nang Sapai, spokesman for the acting governor of Ghazni says that the wounds of four people are life threatening.
