619425-shellattack-1382122706-565-640x480At least nine people including women were injured in Waziristan tribal region, following missile attack from across the border in Afghanistan, Pakistani officials claimed.

Local government sources quoted by Pakistani media agencies said that over a dozen rockets and mortars were fired from Afghanistan which landed in residential area in Angoor Adda, South Waziristan on Thursday.

The sources further added that nine tribesmen including four women were injured following the attack, and three of them are in critical health condition.

Pakistan officials earlier this week also claimed that three Pakistani soldiers from Frontier Constabulary (FC) forces were injured following mortar attack from the Afghan soil.

A local official said, the mortars were fired from the Afghan side on Tuesday evening and one of them landed on a Pakistani checkpost.

Similary, Pakistani security officials claimed last month that at least one person was killed and another one was injured following a cross-border rocket attack from Afghanistan.
