9 abducted civilians freed by kidnappers in Ghazni

GhazniNine civilians abducted in Ghazni province have been freed by the kidnappers.

Mohammad Ali Ahmadi, Deputy Governor of Ghazni province told Khaama Press that the kidnappers released nine civilians out of ten they kidnapped from the jurisdiction of Jaghori District today.

He said one civilian is still in the custody of Taliban together with a Saracha vehicle.

He added that the man with Taliban might be a government official or Taliban had pre-information about his travel.

Explaining the situation, Mohammad Ali Ahmadi said that the civilians were traveling to the capital city of Ghazni province from Jaghori District who were stopped on the way by Taliban and kidnapped on gunpoint.

He further said that Taliban occasionally establish check posts on this way and harass people.

Answering the question, have security forces taken any action against it?

He said “Security forces have only established security check points on the way but they are either not available in the check points or not caring.”

“Either they have hands with Taliban or assisting them.” he said.

He further said that the area where the kidnapping took place today is a Taliban area where only today they have searched people in three points.

Deputy Governor also said that this was not the only incident on this way.

He said several incidents of hostages and robberies have taken place on this way and the destructive activities continue.
