The Afghan security forces have killed 87 Taliban militants during the operations which they conducted in northern Balkh province in past one week.

The 209th Shaheen Corps in a statement said the security forces conducted major offensives in Chemtal, Chahar Bolak, Balkh and Dawlatabad districts in past one week.

The statement further added that the security forces killed 87 militants including 22 of their commanders during the operations.

Furthermore, the 209th Shaheen Corps said the security forces also wounded 77 Taliban militants including 17 of their commanders.

The 209th Shaheen Corps also added that the security forces 7 militants during the same operations.

Meanwhile, the 209th Shaheen Corps said the security forces also cleared vast swathes of Balkh province from the presence of militants and defused 20 improvised explosive devices.
