85 Pakistani militants killed in AfghanistanAt least 85 loyalists of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group were killed in military operations in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.

The Afghan Intelligence – National Directorate of Security (NDS) said the militants were killed in two separate airstrikes.

A statement by NDS said at least 60 of the militants were killed in Abdul Khel area while 25 others were killed in Shadal area of Achin district.

A senior ISIS commander identified as Jalil Warakzai was also among those killed, NDS said, adding that the ISIS commander was leading a group of at least 100 militants in this province.

According to NDS the militants were killed after they launched a coordinated attack on police check posts in Achin district earlier this morning.

NDS also added that the militants were hailing from Pakistan and belonged to Hafiz Syed.
