80 terrorists, 7 Pakistani soldiers killed

Pakistan airstrike in North WaziristanPakistani forces have killed 80 terrorists in fresh military actions in the tribal area of Khayber agency.

Pakistan’s security officials say terrorist bases were also targeted in the Operation Khaber-2 and now terrorists are escaping to the borders areas.

Seven soldiers were also killed in the operation, authorities confirm.

Operation Khayber-2 was launched in October 2014 to clear targeted areas of militants in the tribal built.

Pakistani officials claim killing hundreds of militants during Operation Khayber-2 so far and say that it will continue until the elimination of all militants from these areas.

The operation was launch four months later from Operation Zarb-e-Azab which was launched mainly in Waziristan.

More than 2000 militants including foreign insurgents have been killed in Operation Zarb-e-Azb so far, according to Pakistan’s Inter Services Public Relations which provides information about the ongoing operations in Pakistan.

Pakistan began to take strict actions against insurgents in its territory after peace talks with them did not give a positive result and then terrorists attacked Karachi airport leaving at least 29 people killed.

The attack was claimed by Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Pakistan’s main armed opponent group who conducted other deadly attacks in Pakistan following the one on Karachi airport.
