An improvised explosive device explosion killed at least two civilians in southern Kandahar province.

Kandahar Police Chief Gen. Tadin Khan confirmed the incident and said the explosion also wounded six civilians.

Meanwhile, Nusrat Rahimi, a spokesman for the Ministry of Interior said the explosion targeted a civilian vehicle in Spin Boldak district on Friday evening.

Rahimi further added that a vehicle carrying civilian passengers hit the roadside bomb at around 4:00 pm local time in Nawa area.

No individual or group including Taliban has so far claimed responsibility for the explosion.
