Afghan army casualties on riseAccording to local authorities in northern Parwan province of Afghanistan, at least 2 Afghanistan national army soldiers were killed and 8 others were injured following militants attack.

Mohammad Syed Sediqi, district chief for Seya Gerd confirming the report said the Afghan national army soldiers were killed or injured following mortar attack by Taliban militants in this district.

Mr. Sediqi further added that militants fired mortar rounds on Afghan national army base in Seya Gerd district, which left at least 2 Afghan soldiers dead and 8 others injured.

He said clashes between the Afghan security forces and Taliban militants in Ghorband that connects Parwan with central Bamiyan province is still ongoing in the area which started five days back.

In the meantime, six Afghan national army soldiers were killed after their vehicle struck with a roadside improvised explosive device (IED) in western Farah province of Afghanistan.

Security officials in Farah confirming the report said that the incident took place in Bala Boluk district. However, an Afghan national army official in Westn said that only two Afghan soldiers were killed in the blast.
