explosion in msoqueSeven people have been injured in an explosion inside a mosque in northern Samangan province.

Hamayoun Barlas, District Governor of Dara-e-Soof confirmed the incident in his district on Friday, saying that the explosion took place when people were leaving the mosque after offering Friday’s prayers.

A senior police officer of Dara-e-Soof District was among the ones injured.

Barlas said that the victims were immediately transferred to hospital where they were announced out of danger.

No group has claimed responsibility for the explosion but Hamayoun Barlas, the District Governor blamed Taliban for it.

He said Taliban had placed this bomb inside the mosque.

Taliban have not commented on the report yet.

This blast at a religious gathering occurs a day after a suicide explosion at another religious gathering in eastern Laghman province.

On Tuesday a suicide attacker wearing an explosive vest carried out explosion in the middle of a funeral ceremony in Mehtarlam, provincial capital of Laghman leaving 12 people dead and 36 others wounded.

Some of the injured ones are said to be in critical condition.

This funeral ceremony was being held for a police officer who was killed in a landmine explosion earlier in the day.
