Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt’s international action film 7 Dogs has drawn strong praise from viewers following its theatrical release, with social media reactions highlighting its large-scale production, action sequences and visual presentation.
Directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, the filmmakers behind Bad Boys for Life and Bad Boys: Ride or Die, the film brings together actors and production talent from India, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Europe, Hollywood and West Asia.
The film centres on a crime syndicate known as “7 Dogs” and a dangerous new drug called Pink Lady. According to the film’s reported storyline, Interpol officer Khalid Al-Azzazi arrests senior syndicate member Ghali Abu Dawood. A year later, the criminal group returns with plans to distribute the drug across the Middle East, forcing Khalid to work with Ghali to stop them.
Written and produced by Turki Al-Sheikh, 7 Dogs is positioned as a major international action production, featuring crime, high-speed chases and filming across multiple locations.
Online reactions have largely focused on the film’s scale and technical execution. Viewers described its cinematography, direction and action sequences as ambitious and comparable with major international productions, while others praised the film as a sign of the growing ambitions of Saudi and Arab cinema.
The film has also attracted significant attention because of the reunion of Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt, whose appearances generated considerable interest following the release of the trailer. The two actors have previously appeared together in films including Saajan, Chal Mere Bhai and Yeh Hai Jalwa.
While the initial social media response has been overwhelmingly positive, these reactions reflect audience and fan responses rather than an independent critical consensus. 7 Dogs was released in theatres on August 21.
