At least six members of the Afghan National Police (ANP) were martyred following an attack by Taliban militants in central Logar province on Tuesday.
According to local goverrnment officials, the incident took place in Baraki district after a group of militants launched coordinated attack on a police check post.
District administrative chief for Baraki Barak said at least six policemen were martyred following the attack.
This comes as Taliban militants ambushed a convoy of the Afghan national security forces in Sar-e-Pul province on Monday, leaving at least 22 Afghan national police and Afghan national army troops dead.
The Taliban militants group has not commented regarding the incident so far.
Logar is among the volatile provinces in central Afghanistan where anti-government armed militants are active in its various districts and frequently stage attacks on Afghan national security forces.
