At least six militants affiliated with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria Khurasan (ISIS-K) were killed in US drone strikes in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.

The 201st Silab Corps of the Afghan Military in the East said the militants were killed on Friday in the vicinity of Deh Bala district.

The source further added that the US forces carried out airstrikes on ISIS hideouts using unmanned aerial vehicles, leaving at least six militants dead.

According to Silab Corps, at least two hideouts of the terror group were also destroyed during the airstrikes.

In the meantime, Silab Corps says several villages have been cleared of ISIS militants during the ongoing operations against the terror group in Deh Bala.

The anti-government armed militant and terrorist groups including ISIS loyalists have not commented regarding the report so far.

This comes as counter-terrorism operations involving airstrikes are underway against the ISIS terrorist group in Nangarhar province.
