Six policemen were wounded in an IED blast near a police outpost in Herat province.
The incident happened on Tuesday night at around 10 p.m. local time in Angel District.
Local officials told the media, that a mine was placed close to the outpost that left six ANP members wounded.
Four ANP members were reportedly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, and all of the injured ANA personnel are in good condition, reports indicate.
Following the blast, residents in the area says they have heard gunfire.
In another incident, 3 Afghan National Army soldiers were killed and two others were wounded in an attack by unknown gunmen in Herat province on Wednesday morning.
The incident happened when unknown armed men opened fire on Afghan security forces inside a vehicle.
According to reports, investigations are ongoing in relation to the attack, gunmen at large.
Some sources told the media, that during the attack 3 ANA soldiers were killed and four are wounded.
No group or individual has yet claimed any responsibility for both of the attacks.
An analysis reported by Tolonews shows that over 40 afghan security force members were killed in skirmishes with the Taliban over the past 24 hours in Kunduz, Baghlan, and Nimroz provinces.
“At least nine provinces in Afghanistan have witnessed targeted attacks, explosions, and violent criminal acts in the past 48 hours,” Tolonews said in a report.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defense stated, that over 40 Taliban affiliated members were killed in Kunduz.
