Afghan army soldiers killedAt least six Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers were martyred following roadside bomb explosions in the past 48 hours.

Defese Ministry spokesman, Gen. Zahir Azimi, said Wednesday that the Afghan army soldiers were martyred following separate improvised explosive device (IED) attacks.

Gen. Zahir Azimi did not disclose furhter information regarding the exact locations where the incidents took place.

No group including the Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility behind the incidents.

Taliban militants and other insurgents frequently use improvised explosive device (IED) as the weapon of their choice to target Afghan and coalition security forces.

According to security officials, the Afghan army deaths stands at 4 service members daily on average which is mainly caused due to improvised explosive device (IED) attacks.

The improvised explosive devices (IEDs) are also major contributor to civilian casualties in Afghanistan as the civilians are mostly targeted in roadside bombings.

At least three civilians belonging to a single family were killed following an explosion in Helmand province after their vehicle struck with an IED in Greshk district.
