50 killed and 185 injured during Eid traffic incidents in Afghanistan

The General Traffic Department reports that during the day and night of Eid, 102 traffic incidents occurred in various parts of Afghanistan, resulting in the loss of 50 lives.

This department stated on Monday, April 15th, in its newsletter that during the 4-day Eid ul-Fitr holidays, 50 individuals lost their lives in 102 traffic incidents across the country, with an additional 185 individuals injured.

The Traffic Department of the Ministry of Interior of Afghanistan added in its statement that among the traffic incidents during the day and night of Eid, 25 men, 8 women, and 13 children lost their lives.

According to the newsletter, out of the 185 injured individuals in traffic incidents during Eid in the country, 118 were men, 34 were women, and 33 were children.

The Department also added that, based on conducted investigations, failure to adhere to traffic rules and regulations, excessive speeding, lack of visibility, and children driving vehicles were among the primary factors contributing to the occurrence of traffic incidents.

According to information from the Traffic Department, Herat with 19 incidents, Ghazni with 11 incidents, and Paktia with 10 incidents topped the list of provinces with the highest number of traffic incidents in the country.
