Afghan Interior Ministry following a statement announced at least 5 Taliban militants were killed and 1 Taliban militant was injured following military operations by Afghan national police during the past 24 hours.
The source further added Afghan security forces also detained 21 Taliban militants during the military operations.
The operations were conducted by Afghan national police in conjunction with the Afghan national army, Afghan intelligence and international coalition security forces at Nangarhar, Kunar, Kapisa, Kandahar, Helmand, Khost, Ghazni, Logar, Zabul and Farah provinces of Afghanistan, the statement added.
Afghan interior ministry officials also said Afghan security forces seized some weapons, ammunitions and explosives during the operations.
Taliban militants group yet to comment regarding the operations.
