42 Taliban militants killed in Afghan operations

Afghan Interior Ministry following a press release on Sunday announced at least 42 Taliban militants were killed following joint military operations by Afghan police forces during the past 24 hours.

The source further added Afghan police forces conducted at least 7 military operations in coordination with the Afghan army, Afghan intelligence and coalition security forces.

The operations were conducted in Nangarhar, Laghman, Balkh, Kandahar, Helmand, Khost and Ghazni provinces of Afghanistan.

Afghan interior ministry following the press release also added at least 1 Taliban militant was injured and 37 others were arrested during the operations.

Afghan security forces also seized some weapons, ammunitions and explosives including 15 AK-47 rifles, 1 rocket launcher, 2 PK machine guns, 1 improvised explosive device, 2 hand grenades, 75 kilograms of explosives materials along with a vehicle used by militants, Afghan interior ministry officials said.

In the meantime Taliban militants group denied the reports released in Afghan interior ministry statement.
