The authorities in Afghanistan recorded 413 new positive cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) across the country, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) said.

Deputy Public Health Minister Wahid Majroh said the authorities recorded the new cases in the past 24 hours.

Majroh further added that the authorities tested 1,800 people for the disease in the past 24 hours out which the results of 413 people came as positive.

According to Majroh, the authorities recorded 188 of the new positive cases in capital Kabul and the remaining cases were recorded in other provinces.

He also added that four people lost their lives due to the virus during the same period while 43 others recovered.

The virus has so far killed 136 people across the country while 691 others have recovered, Majroh said, adding that the latest cases increase the total number of infected people to 5,639.
