At least 25 Taliban militants including four senior Taliban leaders were killed following military operations in eastern Paktika province of Afghanistan.
The interior ministry of Afghanistan following a statement said Taliban shadow district chiefs for Dila, Yahya Khel and Omna districts were killed during the operations.
The statement further added that the Taliban leaders were recognized as Abu Bakar, commadner Qadir and Hamas.
The militants were killed during operations in Omna district on Friday, interior ministry said, adding that Afghan police forces also confiscated two vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices (VBIEDs) which were prepared for car bombings.
According to interior ministry, the group of militants which were eliminated during the operations, were involved in major roadside bombings, ambush along with the planning and coordination of suicide attacks in various districts of Paktika province.
Another senior Taliban leader who was the head of the Taliban group’s military commission in Paktika province was killed during an operation in Yousuf Khel district.
Interior ministry said the senior Taliban commander Kabir Halal was involved in major terrorist attacks in Yousuf Khel district.
