Balochistan Home Minister Sarfaraz Bugti confirmed that the vehicles convoy of the Frontier Corps was targeted in the explosion.

There are no reports regarding the type of the explosion which according to local media reports was so loud that rocked the entire Sariab road area.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Police Quetta Abdul Razzaq Cheema has told Dawn News that the majority of the victims are civilians and a child is also among those killed.

According to Gen. Cheema, the explosion was likely triggered after a suicide bomber detonated his explosives.
