KABUL, Afghanistan – The country has recorded 62 new positive cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Public Health’s report, while at least four patients died.

In total, at least 425 samples were taken for swap test and 62 turned positive, bringing the total positive cases nationwide to 40,088.

While at least 190 recovered from the disease, the country recorded one dead during the past 24 hours, according to the ministry.

From beginning of the outbreak, the county registered at least 40,088 infected patients, of which 33,516 are reported recovered.

While, 1,485 reported dead nationwide.

Most of the cases are reported in Herat, Balkh and Daikundi provinces accordingly.

The figure came at a time, health officials warn citizens of the second wave, which is predicted to cost heavier if safety measures are not observed.
