mozaheb20121231125240483At least four Afghan national army (ANA) soldiers were martyred following an attack in northeastern Badakhshan province of Afghanistan.

According to local government officials, the incident took place late Wednesday in Jurm district.

Noor Aqa Naderi, district chief for Jurm, said a group of militants ambushed the Afghan national army soldiers.

Mr. Naderi further added that four soldiers were martyred and two others were injured following the attack, while a civilian was also killed.

He said clashes between Afghan soldiers and militants lasted for almost three hours and three armored vehicles along with a pickup truck of Afghan soldiers were also damaged during the clashes.

The Taliban militants claimed responsibility behind the attack and claimed that 20 Afghan soldiers were killed following the attack.
