At least four Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers were martyred in the latest spate of violence across the country.
The Ministry of Defense (MoD) said Tuesday that the soldiers were martyred following improvised explosive device (IED) explosion and direct enemy fire.
Gen. Zahir Azimi, spokesman for the Ministry of Defense (MoD) said at least 10 militants were also killed during operations by Afghan army forces.
He said Afghan army soldiers conducted operations in six different provinces in the past 24 hours.
At least 12 militants were also injured while two others were who were kidnapped by militants were set free during the operations, Gen. Azimi said.
According to Gen. Azimi, Afghan forces also discovered and seized various types of weapons, ammunition and explosives, including 54 rounds of improvised explosive device (IED) during the operations.
The anti-government armed militant groups have not commented regarding the reports so far.
