At least 36 Taliban militants were killed and 17 others were injured during military operations by Afghan national security forces in the past 24 hours.
The operations were jointly conducted by Afghan national police, Afghan national army and Afghan intelligence – National Directorate of Security (NDS) operatives.
Interior ministry following a statement said Monday that the operations were conducted in Kunar, Nangarhar, Badakhshan, Sar-e-Pul, Jawzjan, Kandahar, Zabul, Maidan Wardak, Ghazni and Helmand provinces of Afghanistan.
The statement further added that Afghan security forces also detained 14 Taliban militants during the military operations.
Afghan security forces also discovered and confiscated various types of weapons and ammunition during the operations, interior ministry said.
Afghan police forces discovered and seized six improvised explosive device (IED) during military operations in Uruzgan and Ghazni provinces.
According to interior ministry, the improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were recently planted by Taliban militants to carry out insurgency attacks.
