35 Taliban militants killed or injured in Afghan operations

Afghan army launch major offensiveAt least 35 Taliban militants were killed or injured following military operations conducted by Afghan national security forces in various provinces of Afghanistan.

The interior ministry of Afghanistan (MOI) following a statement said the militants were killed during the past 24 hours following military operations by Afghan national security forces.

The statement further added that the operations were conducted by Afghan national police, Afghan national army and Afghan intelligence operatives, in Kunar, Zabul, Logar and Helmand provinces of Afghanistan.

Interior ministry confirmed 28 Taliban militants were killed, 7 militants were injured and 7 others were detained during the operations.

Afghan national security forces also discovered and seized heavy and light weapons along with ammuntion and explosives during the operations, MOI said in its statement.

Afghan police forces discovered and seized four improvised explosive device (IEDs) during a separate military operation in Banu distrit of northern Baghlan province.

According to MOI, the IEDs were planted by Taliban militants to carry out insurgency attacks against the Afghan national security forces.
