33 armed Taliban militants killed in Afghan operations

Afghan police keep order after a protest in KabulAt least 33 Taliban militants were killed during military operations conducted by Afghan national security forces in various provinces of Afghanistan during the past 24 hours.

The interior ministry of Afghanistan following a statement said, “In past 24 hours, Afghan National Police conducted several anti-terrorism joint operations with Afghan National Army and NDS to clean some of the areas from terrorists and enemies of peace and stability of Afghanistan.”

The statement further added, “The operations were conducted in Nangarhar, Nooristan, Kandahar, Zabul and Helmand provinces, as a result 33 armed Taliban members were killed, two wounded and nine others were arrested by Afghan National Security Forces.”

Afghan security forces also discovered and seized light and heavy rounds ammunition during the military operations, interior ministry said in its statement.

Taliban militants group yet to comment regarding the reports.
