The Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs of Afghanistan announced that there are 30 Afghans among hundreds of Muslims who embraced martyrdom and sustained injuries in the crane collapse accident in Mecca.
Dai-ul-haq Abid, deputy minister for Hajj and Religious affairs said that one Afghan who is hailing from Kabul province embraced martyrdom and 29 others wounded in the accident on Friday.
He said 18 patients whose were discharged after receiving medical care but 11 others are still at the hospital in Saudi Arabia.
According to Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defense authority, 107 Hajis lost lives in the incident and 238 others sustained injuries.
The other victims include people from Iran, Pakistan, India, Malaysia and Indonesia.
The crane apparently collapse due to strong storm.
