The Afghan Special Forces killed two Taliban militants during an operation in southern Helmand province.

The military officials said Sunday that the Special Forces conducted the operation in Nahr-e-Saraj district.

The officials further added that the Special Forces also detained six Taliban fighters during the same operation.

Meanwhile, the security forces conducted an airstrike in Musa Qala district and killed one Taliban fighter.

The anti-government armed militants including Taliban have not commented regarding the operations so far.

This comes as the Afghan Special Forces have stepped up counter-terrorism operations across restive parts of the country.

The U.S. forces also conduct regular airstrikes in restive areas of the country to suppress Taliban and other anti-government militants.
