Ghazni provinceAt least three civilians were killed following a roadside improvised explosive device (IED) explosion in south-eastern Ghazni province of Afghanistan.

According to local government officials, the incident took place in Aab Band district, after civilian vehicle struck with the roadside bomb.

Aab Band district chief, Allahdad Halimi confirming the report, said the victims of the incident, are members of a single family.

No group including the Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.

Local officials blame Taliban group for the incident, as Taliban fighters frequently use improvised explosive device as the weapon of their choice to target Afghan security forces which normally lead to civilian casualties.

Ghazni is among the restive provinces in south-eastern Afghanistan, where Taliban militants and insurgents from the other groups are openly operating in its various districts.

At least three Afghan Local Police (ALP) officers were killed and eight others including women and children were injured following a suicide attack in Andar district on Monday.
