3 civilians die in Logar roadside bombing

LogarAt least three civilians were killed following an improvised explosive device (IED) attack in eastern Logar province of Afghanistan.

The incident took place early Saturday in Pul-e-Alam city of Logar province after a civilian vehicle struck with an improvised explosive device (IED).

Interior ministry officials said at least two civilians were also injured following the explosion which took place Pashtunabad area.

No group including the Taliban miliants has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.

Afghan offiicals blame the Taliban group for the incident as Taliban fighters frequently use improvised explosive device (IED) as the weapon of their choice to target Afghan and coalition security forces which normally leads to civilian casualties.

Logar is among the volatile provinces in eastern Afghanistan where anti-government armed militant groups are actively operating in its various districts and often carry out insurgency attacks.
