At least 3 suspects busted over drug trafficking in Parwan, Herat provinces, Oct 25, 2020.

Afghanistan – Counter Narcotic Police of Afghanistan arrested at least three suspects over multiple charges in several operations throughout the country, said the Ministry of Interior Affairs in a statement Sunday.

Security officials seized 19 kilograms of hashish and 32 liters of alcoholic beverages – in the country where consumption of such drinks are prohibited – during a number of operations.

“CNPA arrested three drug smugglers & seized 19kg of hashish & 32 liters of alcoholic beverages following three separate Counter-Narcotics operations in Parwan & Herat provinces,” said MoIA in a tweet.

Arrest came at a time Acting Minister of the Interior Massoud Andarabi gave a “shoot” order to local police throughout Afghanistan if any suspected criminal tend to defy security forces during their operation.

This initiative is in an attempt to further strengthen security measures nationwide, fowling a wide-spread concern over armed robberies and kidnaping of the citizen in provinces, including the Afghan capital Kabul.
