3 Afghan army soldiers injured in Helmand province

Afghan Defense Ministry officials following a statement announced, at least 3 Afghan National Army soldiers were injured in southern Helmand province.

The source further added, the Afghan army service members were injured while conducting their duties at Marjah and Delaram district of southern Helmand province.

Afghan army soldiers seized some weapons and ammunitions including 8 improvised explosive device during the operation, the statement.

In separate military operation at Faryab province, Afghan army soldier seized 2 AK-47 rifles, 3 hand grenades, 7 AK-47 rifles and some other explosives from Nawbahar district of Zabul province.

In the meantime International Security Assistance Force officials following a press release announced Afghan and Coalition Forces killed three insurgents and captured five in eastern Afghanistan during operations throughout the past 24 hours.

The statement further added, Afghan National Army soldiers and Coalition Forces killed three insurgents in response to rocket propelled grenade and small arms fire in Muqer District, Ghazni province. ANA soldiers, along with Afghan National Police, also wounded one insurgent after receiving small arms fire in Khogyani District, Ghazni Province. The detainee was medically evacuated to a nearby medical facility for treatment.

ANA soldiers detained two suspects after finding them near a cache of small arms and ammunition in Zormat District, Paktiya Province. The detainees were taken to a nearby base for questioning.

ANA soldiers and CF received small arms fire in Watahpur District, Kunar province and detained one individual acting suspicious near the location. The detainee transferred under ANA custody to a nearby base for questioning.

Afghan Uniform Police and CF detained one suspect after finding an improvised explosive device’s command wire leading into the individual’s house in Mohmand Dara District, Nangarhar province. The detainee was transferred to a nearby facility under AUP custody and the IED area was cleared.
